Demonstration of an unusual degree of service to the Waterbury Campus, the University of Connecticut or to his/her local community while maintaining a strong academic record. Applicants must be matriculated Waterbury Campus students, who have completed at least 12 credits at this campus, and who will be continuing at the University of Connecticut as full time students the following academic year. Value: One award of $1000.00 The Katherine Hill Pomeroy Scholarships.Deadline: March 7, 2008 Download Application form (.doc) Source: Established through the generous contribution of the Katherine Hill Pomeroy estate. The criteria that are considered are academic achievement, financial need, and community service. Applicants must be matriculated Waterbury Campus students, who have completed at least 12 credits at this campus, and who will be continuing at the University of Connecticut as full time students the following academic year. Eligibility: The criteria that are considered are academic achievement, financial need, and extracurricular activities related to school, church, and community service. Awards are made on a competitive basis so a student need not be strong in all three categories to apply. Applicants must be a current Waterbury Campus degree student who has completed a minimum of 36 credits at the Waterbury Campus and who will be continuing at the University of Connecticut the following academic year. Value: Two awards of $750.00 each. Eligibility: Awarded to an undergraduate student(s) registered at least half-time at the University of Connecticut at Waterbury in the fall semester. The award will be based on FINANCIAL NEED, ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT, and COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT. From those candidates that meet these criteria, preference will be given to first generation college students and students planning to enroll full-time at the Waterbury Campus. Value: Up to one award of $1,000.00. Eligibility: Awarded to an undergraduate student(s) registered at least half-time at the University of Connecticut at Waterbury in the fall semester. From those candidates that meet these criteria, preference will be given to students planning to major in the humanities or social sciences at the Waterbury Campus.
