Parking at the Waterbury Campus

RAMP GARAGE
At the Waterbury campus, we ask that you park on the second or third level of the UConn ramp garage, located on North Elm Street. Level One is reserved for faculty, staff and visitors only. Handicap parking spaces are located on each level. Failure to park in a designated student spot will result in a parking fine, which appears on your student fee bill after 30 days. Please do not park in a handicap spot without a handicap sticker, as this will result in a $50 parking fine. For directions, click here.

The University provides the ramp garage for student convenience. However, spaces are not guaranteed and during busy times on campus (particularly on weekday mornings), students should allow extra time before class to park at the Scovill Street Garage as needed.

SCOVILL STREET GARAGE
Additional UConn parking is available free of charge on the fifth or sixth level of the Scovill Street Garage, located across the street from campus behind the Waterbury Arts Magnet School (WAMS). In order to use the Scovill Street garage, students must display a valid UConn-Waterbury parking decal.

UCONN POLICE
UConn police patrol the UConn ramp garage on a regular basis. UConn police can escort students to their cars at any time, including to the Scovill Street Garage. There are "blue box" emergency phones located throughout the UConn garage that are linked directly to the Waterbury police switchboard.

PARKING DECALS

  1. The parking charge automatically appears on your fee bill at the beginning of the fall semester. In order to obtain a parking decal, all students must complete a Student Vehicle Registration Form, either by downloading the form or picking up a form in the Student Services Suite. Completed forms should be returned to the Student Services Suite. Parking decals are available beginning in early August. New students will receive the form at their summer registration session and receive the decal at the August 21st Orientation program.
  2. All students must complete a new Student Vehicle Registration Form each academic year.

  3. The UConn Waterbury parking decal is valid at any regional campus as well as at the Storrs campus, provided that students park in designated student parking areas as posted.

TICKETING
UConn police patrol the UConn ramp garage on a regular basis and will issue tickets for parking violations. Students may appeal a parking ticket by completing a Parking Appeals Form, available in the Student Services Suite. The Parking Appeals Committee reviews all appeals.
