Center for Academic Programs - Waterbury Office

The Center for Academic Programs is a supportive service program designed to assist selected students who are underrepresented on the college campus (i.e. who meet socio-economic guidelines established by the Federal Government, and/or are the first in their family to receive a four year college education).

The Center for Academic Programs acts as a liaison with University departments, schools, and colleges to help students fulfill their academic goals at The University of Connecticut. The Center provides mentoring and tutoring programs, student development workshops, and academic, counseling. First year CAP students are required to attend and successfully complete a six week Pre-Collegiate Summer Program prior to enrolling at the University for the regular scheduled academic year. The Pre-Collegiate Summer Program at the Waterbury Campus is non-residential. Students can earn up to eight college credits in English, mathematics, study skills and computers.
