Office of Student Activities
The Office of Student Activities coordinates the Student Lounge, New Student Orientation, Associated Student Government and special student events.
The Office of Student Activities is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The office is located on the second floor, in the Student Services Suite. Students are welcomed to walk in.

The Student Lounge is a comfortable place for students to meet and hang out in between classes. It is staffed by student workers. There is comfortable seating, a pool table, foosball table, Atari Flashback hook-up and stereo. Students can check out soccer balls and footballs, board games and cards. Students may also use the refrigerator and microwave. Student IDs are taken in the Student Lounge. There is a Job Binder, listing part-time work that is available to students in the community, and an Apartment Binder, listing area apartments and other rentals.

ASG is the primary student organization at UConn Waterbury. ASG is responsible for student programming throughout the year. They represent the UConn Waterbury student body to faculty and administration. Regular programs are held on campus during Free Period on Tuesdays (12:30 - 2pm). Programs vary and might include free pizza lunches, tarrot card readings, outdoor barbeques or inflatable obstacle courses. Special events include the annual Halloween party and other theme parties throughout the year. ASG holds weekly meetings on Wednesdays at 12:35 in the Library, 1st floor conference room. The meetings are open to all students.

The Office of Student Activities welcomes ideas and interest for new clubs. All new clubs must be registered by the Office of Student Activities. Anyone interested in forming a new club should contact Jim Long.
New Student Orientation
The Office of Student Activities coordinates orientation for all incoming students in August, at the beginning of the new academic year. Student Orientation Leaders are selected each spring. Applications for Summer 2008 Orientation Leaders are now available.
Orientation Leaders are important to the success of the UConn-Waterbury Orientation program and are recognized leaders throughout the UConn community. They serve as group leaders, peer educators and positive role models. Orientation Leaders are actively involved in assisting all new students with their transition to UConn-Waterbury. Orientation Leaders participate in a training program that will be held in the summer (dates to be announced). They are trained in and expected to be knowledgeable abouinformation, group dynamics and student development issues.
